Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 2026-08-22
Mentor is committed to making its learning Service reasonably accessible to learners who use English or Hebrew, including right-to-left layouts. This statement describes our approach, available features, known limitations, and how to request assistance.
Our commitment
The Israeli legal target for internet services is Israeli Standard 5568 (based on WCAG 2.0 Level AA), under the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations 5773-2013. We also aim for WCAG 2.1 Level AA as an ongoing target. Some areas of the Service may not yet fully meet either. We prioritize keyboard operability, visible focus, semantic structure, screen-reader-friendly labels, and readable contrast in light and dark themes. The in-app accessibility toolbar helps visitors adjust presentation preferences; it does not by itself constitute full WCAG conformance or a guarantee of accessibility for every assistive-technology combination.
Accessibility features in the app
- Skip-to-main-content link on pages where the primary application shell is present.
- OpenNagish open-source accessibility toolbar (Hebrew and English) for text size, contrast, spacing, stopping animations, and related assistive controls, plus a link to this statement.
- Keyboard focus styles on buttons, links, and form controls.
- Reduced-motion behavior that respects the prefers-reduced-motion system setting where implemented.
- RTL layout and localized Hebrew user-interface copy across core product flows.
- Theme controls for light, dark, and system appearance.
- ARIA labels and roles on primary navigation, chat controls, and many interactive widgets.
- Ability to export learning data and delete your account from Settings.
Known limitations
- Streaming mentor chat updates may not announce every incremental token to screen readers in real time.
- Some dense dashboard layouts and gesture-based interactions (such as pull-to-refresh on mobile) continue to be refined with assistive technologies.
- Third-party web checkout (Polar hosted checkout) is subject to Polar's own accessibility implementation. Native in-app purchase sheets from Apple and Google include their own confirmation UI and accessibility.
- Uploaded PDFs, imported websites, and external YouTube content retain the accessibility characteristics of their original sources; we cannot remediate third-party media end-to-end.
- AI-generated text may use formatting that is imperfect for some assistive tools; users should report blocking issues so we can improve.
Tips while we improve
- Open the accessibility toolbar to increase text size, raise contrast, or stop animations if needed.
- Enable your operating system's high-contrast or reduced-motion settings where helpful; the app respects prefers-reduced-motion where implemented.
- Use keyboard Tab to reach the skip link and main navigation; Escape closes supported overlays and mobile menus.
- If a specific flow blocks a core learning task, contact us with the page, browser, and assistive technology you use so we can prioritize a fix.
Accessibility feedback
We welcome accessibility feedback and accommodation requests related to the Service. Use the Contact link in the site footer or the in-app feedback form in Settings with a description of the barrier, the URL or screen involved, and your assistive technology if relevant. We aim to respond within a reasonable time and to prioritize issues that prevent sign-in, learning, or account management.
Accessibility coordinator (רכז נגישות): Netanel Harush. Contact netanel@my-mentor.app, the Contact link in the site footer, or the in-app feedback form in Settings.
