Terms of Use

Last updated: 2026-08-22

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are Mentor's product terms for the Mentor service. They cover the website at https://my-mentor.app, use in desktop and mobile browsers, and the My.Mentor iOS app on the App Store. This page is also the custom End User License Agreement (EULA) we provide to Apple for that iOS app. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement does not apply to the website or to web billing. This is product copy about how Mentor works, not legal advice. By creating an account or using Mentor, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy at https://my-mentor.app/privacy. If you do not agree, do not use Mentor.

Where these Terms apply

Mentor is an adaptive-learning app. You can use it on the web at https://my-mentor.app (including desktop browsers), in the My.Mentor iOS app from the App Store, and in the Android app from Google Play when that build is available. The iOS App Store and Google Play listings are enabled for every country App Store Connect and Google Play Console currently offer for this app. Apple's and Google's storefront lists are not the same. Google Play does not operate in mainland China. We do not reprint those lists here. The in-app interface is English and Hebrew (Hebrew uses a right-to-left layout), even when a store listing is shown in another storefront language. The same account, signed in with a magic link sent to your email, works across those surfaces. Features can differ by platform. Mentor Pro billing follows the store you used to subscribe.

Who operates Mentor

  • Mentor is operated by Netanel Harush in Israel.
  • Public contact: netanel@my-mentor.app (Contact link in the footer).
  • We do not publish a home street address on this page. Store listings may show a payments-profile or trader address required by Apple or Google.
  • If you are a consumer in Israel, the Hebrew text of these Terms prevails if it conflicts with the English text.
  • Mandatory Israeli law is not waived. That includes the Consumer Protection Law 5741-1981, the Standard Contracts Law 5742-1982, the Protection of Privacy Law 5741-1981, and the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law 5758-1998.
  • We do not have a local company in every country where the app is listed.

Eligibility and access

Anyone may create an account with a magic link sent to their email. Native store listings are 13+. We do not ask for your age in the app. Do not create an account for a child under 13. If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we will delete it. If you are under the age of legal capacity where you live (in Israel, generally 18), a parent or guardian must approve the account and any paid subscription. Access is personal and non-transferable. You may not share accounts. We may approve, refuse, suspend, or close accounts, and may modify features, quotas, or availability at any time.

Your account

  • Sign in with the email address you used to create your account, using the authentication method we provide (such as magic links).
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your email and authentication links confidential.
  • Do not share magic links, sell or transfer access, or attempt to bypass authentication, rate-limit, billing, or safety controls.
  • Notify us promptly via the Contact link in the site footer or the in-app feedback form in Settings if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

Your content and license to us

You retain ownership of materials you submit to the Service ("User Content"), including documents, website imports, YouTube-derived text, chat messages, per-course Mentor memories, goals, and feedback. You grant Mentor a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, chunk, embed, transmit to subprocessors, display, and otherwise use User Content solely as needed to operate, secure, improve, and provide the Service to you (including generating plans, mentor responses, quizzes, progress records, and safety checks). Eval sharing is on by default and limited to redacted failure-pattern turns used to improve prompts and evals for learners; you can turn it off in Settings. It is not a license to train public foundation models.

You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to submit User Content and to grant this license, and that your User Content and your use of the Service do not violate law, these Terms, or third-party rights (including copyright, privacy, and publicity).

Acceptable use

You agree not to, and not to attempt to:

  • Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, harassing, exploitative, or abusive purposes.
  • Upload, import, or request generation of malware, or content that is illegal, that promotes violent crime, child sexual exploitation, or other clearly disallowed categories, or that our safety systems are designed to block.
  • Circumvent content-safety, authentication, billing, or technical restrictions.
  • Probe, scan, or attack the Service, other users, or related infrastructure without authorization.
  • Scrape, bulk-export beyond provided tools, resell, or reverse engineer the Service except to the limited extent mandatory law permits.
  • Submit content that infringes intellectual property or violates others' privacy or confidentiality.
  • Use the Service to provide emergency, medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice, or as a substitute for qualified professional judgment.
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation, or use the Service in a way that imposes unreasonable load or degrades availability for others.

We may refuse, remove, quarantine, or block User Content or messages, and may suspend accounts, when we reasonably believe these rules were violated or when required for safety, security, or legal compliance.

AI output disclaimer

Mentor uses probabilistic AI models. Outputs may be incomplete, incorrect, biased, outdated, or inconsistent with your source materials. Mentor responses, plans, quizzes, transcripts, and summaries are provided for learning support only and do not constitute professional advice. You are solely responsible for evaluating and verifying outputs before relying on them.

Optional web-research results depend on third-party sources we do not control. Imported websites and YouTube materials retain the quality and legality of their sources. We do not guarantee that safety filters will catch every disallowed input or unsafe output.

Subscriptions and billing

Mentor Pro is a paid monthly subscription for unlimited mentor chats. Where you subscribe decides who bills you and how you cancel. Buying on one store does not create a subscription on the other. Your Mentor account shows Pro while we record an active paid period for that account. On Apple App Store and Google Play, the price shown in your storefront is the price you pay. Other countries show Apple's or Google's local price and currency.

Web and desktop browser. Subscribe and pay through Polar. Prices, currency, tax, and renewal interval appear at Polar checkout. Polar's buyer and payment terms apply to that purchase. Cancel renewal from Billing in Mentor or through Polar's customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current Polar billing period unless consumer law requires otherwise. Refunds, if any, follow Polar's policies and applicable law, not Apple's.

iOS app (App Store). Mentor Pro is an auto-renewable In-App Purchase billed to your Apple ID, in the Mentor Pro subscription group (Mentor Pro monthly). Polar does not bill or cancel iOS subscriptions.

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
  • The subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Apple charges for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Manage or cancel in your Apple ID subscription settings (iPhone Settings, your name, Subscriptions). You cannot cancel an App Store subscription through Polar or through Mentor's web Billing tab.
  • Refunds and billing disputes for App Store purchases follow Apple's rules. Request them through Apple (for example reportaproblem.apple.com).
  • If a free trial is offered, unused trial time is forfeited when you purchase the subscription.
  • The price Apple shows in the purchase sheet is the price you pay. List price is typically $24.99 USD per month, or ₪75 per month on the Israel storefront, and can change.

Android (Google Play), when you subscribe in the Android app. Billed through Google Play Billing. Manage or cancel in Google Play Payments and subscriptions. Refunds follow Google's rules. The price Google Play shows in the purchase sheet is the price you pay. List price is typically $24.99 USD per month, or ₪75 per month on the Israel storefront, and can change.

  • Free-tier limits, including mentor chat quotas, may change with reasonable in-product notice.
  • If payment fails, we may downgrade the account or pause paid features.
  • For billing help that is not an Apple or Google store refund, use the Contact link in the site footer or in-app feedback in Settings.

Israeli consumers

Mentor Pro on the website (Polar) is a distance-selling transaction under the Consumer Protection Law.

  • You may cancel within 14 days of the purchase or of receiving the written transaction details, whichever is later, even after the subscription period has started. If we have already provided part of the paid period, we may charge only for the portion used, as the law allows.
  • To use that 14-day cooling-off right, email netanel@my-mentor.app. We will confirm in writing and refund Polar charges as the law requires. Billing in Mentor or Polar's portal stops renewal at period end. That is not a cooling-off refund.
  • Refund of amounts due within 14 days of receiving the cooling-off notice, to the original payment method when Polar allows it.
  • A cancellation fee may apply of up to 5% of the transaction amount or NIS 100, whichever is lower, except where the law forbids a fee (for example a defect or mismatch).
  • A longer cancellation period of four months may apply to persons aged 65 or over, persons with disabilities, and new immigrants in Israel less than five years, when the law's conversation or electronic-communication conditions are met.
  • Prices, currency, and any VAT appear at Polar checkout or on the Apple/Google purchase sheet.
  • iOS App Store and Google Play purchases are managed and refunded through Apple or Google as described in Subscriptions. Mandatory Israeli consumer rights still apply to the extent the law binds us as the seller. We cannot override Apple's or Google's store refund process.
  • Complaints about consumer rights go to the Israel Consumer Protection and Fair Trade Authority (הרשות להגנת הצרכן ולסחר הוגן).

EEA and UK consumers

Mentor Pro on the website (Polar) is a distance contract.

  • EEA and UK consumers may have a 14-day withdrawal right under EU or UK consumer law.
  • To use it, email netanel@my-mentor.app. We will confirm in writing and refund Polar charges as the law requires.
  • Billing in Mentor or Polar's portal stops renewal at period end. That is not a withdrawal refund.
  • App Store and Google Play purchases follow Apple's or Google's refund rules. We cannot override them. Mandatory local consumer rights still apply to the extent the law binds us.

Our intellectual property

The Service—including software, UI, branding, documentation, prompts, workflows, and non-User Content—is owned by Mentor or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use the Service for your personal learning in accordance with your plan. No rights are granted to our models, weights, system prompts, or underlying infrastructure except as expressly stated.

Third-party services

The Service interoperates with third parties (for example, authentication and database hosting, AI providers, payment checkout, YouTube, and websites you choose to import). Billing surfaces include Polar checkout on the web, Apple App Store on iOS, and Google Play on Android. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party outages, policy changes, or content.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account from Settings at any time. We may suspend or terminate access immediately if you violate these Terms, create risk for the Service or others, fail to pay fees when due, or if required by law. Upon termination, your license to use the Service ends. Export any data you need before deletion. Provisions that by nature should survive (including ownership, licenses granted for pre-termination operation, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnity, and governing law) will survive termination.

Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AI OUTPUTS OR IMPORTED CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MENTOR AND ITS SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory law. For Israeli consumers, nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited under the Consumer Protection Law, the Standard Contracts Law, the Protection of Privacy Law, or the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law.

Indemnity

You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Mentor and its personnel from and against claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your User Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Exclusive jurisdiction and venue lie in the competent courts of Tel Aviv, Israel, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence requires otherwise.

Contact

Questions about these Terms: use the Contact link in the site footer (email netanel@my-mentor.app) or the in-app feedback form in Settings. Privacy details live in the Privacy Policy at https://my-mentor.app/privacy.

General

These Terms are the custom EULA for the iOS app and the terms for the website. Together with the Privacy Policy and any plan-specific commercial terms shown at checkout, they are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We may update these Terms by posting a revised version with an updated date; continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance except where law requires otherwise.
